Project #2: THE FRIDGE!!!!

Today I have started project number 2: THE FRIDGE DUN DUN DUNNNN

Like I said there are 4 people living in this house.  That is a lot of food especially when roommate one things roommate two is eating all the food and that it's not fair.  SO we only overlap things like milk and eggs and condiments but as far as the rest goes, every man for himself!

So before I started taking pictures I had already done the freezer.  This looks packed? BELIEVE ME there was a LOT more junk in there before.  I have healthiest stuff on top and least healthy hidden in the drawer on the bottom
Top Shelf: Frozen Veggies, Fruit and Rice
Second Shelf: Frozen pork, chicken and bacon
Third Shelf: Frozen burger patties, cheesy stuff and margarine
In the Drawer: Homemade ice cream, Popsicle, etc.

Now here is the challenge.... THE FRIDGE DUN DUN DUNNNNN

Before taking pictures I already emptied all the old condiments from the sides... FILTHY! Step one, throw away all expired condiments.  There are also a lot of multiples of things so I need to set them in order from oldest to newest so we can use them  appropriately.

Less than an hour of emptying the fridge, wiping it down with white distilled vinegar, water (and dish soap for the rough spots,) throwing away old food and recycling bottles from out of date dressings and condiments and TADA!

What a before and after huh?

Can you notice the eggs? There was so much JUNK piled into it before that Roomate one didn't realize I already had eggs from the farmer's market and went out and bought a 3 dozen pack!

This will help us save A LOT MORE MONEY!!!

Cleaning Vinyl Siding

As far as starting my cleaning... I occasionally get these random bursts of energy and enthusiasm (usually after a long Pinterest session)  But this time I am starting a blog to hold me accountable and follow through.

My last cleaning burst was last weekend when I realized how dirty the vinyl on my house was! I had slugs crawling all over it and leaving squiggly little marks in all the layers of dirt!

So I took a bucket of water, white distilled vinegar and some laundry detergent along with a mop (a scrub brush would have worked better if I had one) and scrubbed it!

And now it's shiny white and good as new!

Introduction to my messy home

Hi There!

This is REHAB: Home Edition...

I am getting ready to introduce you to one of the messiest houses on the planet!  I live in a SMALL 3 bedroom house. It's me and 3 MEN!  Did I mention ONE bathroom? YUCK!  I didn't realize my house was SO BAD until today.  I have been enlightened.

It's amazing how quickly you can put up blinders and literally stare at a mess and NOT SEE IT! Now I know how the people on the show Hoarders DO IT!
This is my adorable little home.  It IS a rental so I can't go too crazy with renovations and such without permission.  We have a large front yard and large back yard.  We have a small driveway and street parking where we have to fit 4 TRUCKS and my little car.  It's crowded.

The path shows remnants from my birthday party 5 days ago when I decided to burn up a large poster and then leave the mess there.

The garden (or lack thereof) Shows two springs of failed attempts.  First year by me and my boyfriend and this year by our roommate.  There is one tall pepper plant that won't produce peppers because it needed a second one to pollinate with.  The right used to be mint and the left a tangle of oregano and weeds

Below is our wild rosemary plant that we transplanted a year and a half ago and finally started growing this spring.  There are two beautiful thai basil plants that my roommate planted this year and a small thai pepper plant sitting in between the two.  The rest is weeds

And of course, empty hanging baskets
As you walk up the path you begin to realize that this cute little home is not as clean and cute as it looked from afar.  LUCKILY the landlord cuts the grass so we don't have to worry about that!

Well this is your first look at my messy home..... I will save the terror of the inside of the house for a second post!
